Safety has always been at the heart of SafeBoda’s mission to provide reliable and trusted transport solutions. Over the last 10 years, SafeBoda has consistently listened to its community of drivers and customers through surveys, feedback, focus group sessions and support conversations. The goal has been simple: to understand what matters most when it comes to feeling safe while using SafeBoda and SafeCar services. 

Behind every SafeBoda/SafeCar trip is a dedicated Safety Team working tirelessly to keep the platform secure before, during, and after every ride. Many of the safety features drivers and customers depend on are the result of continuous feedback and innovation, designed to protect users while giving peace of mind.

Plus (Insured Rides)

SafeBoda is the only platform in Uganda where both customers and drivers enjoy insurance coverage during a trip. By choosing a Premium or Plus ride, customers with their drivers are assured of protection in the event of a road traffic accident. This coverage includes support for hospital bills, subject to terms and conditions. It is an added layer of security designed to give every passenger and driver greater peace of mind while on the move.

Helmet Pop-up

Before beginning a trip, customers receive an in-app pop-up message asking whether their rider has provided a passenger helmet. This feature promotes SafeBoda’s core safety standard: every SafeBoda rider is required to carry a second helmet for their passenger. Location Sharing/Live Tracking
